Marcello Mantovani

Marcello Mantovani is a young talent in contemporary painting, known for his strong reference to reality and an evolving pictorial language. His artistic research primarily focuses on human dialogue and the poetry of daily life, as evidenced by his portraits of family and friends.

Initially characterized by a realistic passion and stylistic consciousness, his recent painting has been enriched by a new vision, concentrating on family affections and the exploration of light-color using textured supports and warm tones. The artist favors direct expression through painting (pencil or color), at times leaning towards a harsh and wild expressionism in his markings, momentarily rejecting the use of new technologies (photo, video) for imagery. His more mature works, often resolved with dense, textured impasto and uniformly diffused light, take the form of a "diary through images" with a high expressive and psychological charge.
