Albert Hien
PAPALAPAP (Lemon yellow)
Neonsystems and wood cm 20 x 66 x 11 (inch 7.87 x 26 x 4.33), 2022
Albert Hien's "PAPALAPAP" is a light installation that treats the onomatopoeia in a minimalist, linear fashion. Unlike his square works, this piece is an elongated horizontal structure, where the word is written in a single, monochromatic bright lemon yellow colour. The artist uses neon systems, metal, and paint, fixing the luminous tubes to a black metal backing that emphasizes the graphic form and character clarity. The letters, all lowercase, lend an informal and playful tone.
