Acrylic on canvas cm 50 x 70 (inch 19.8 x 27.6)
Blue Sky I is a tribute to the works of Hiroshi Nagai. White Sky recently discovered the Japanese artist’s work and became deeply fascinated by it, recognizing striking affinities with his own visual narratives. Nagai moved to Los Angeles in 1970 and, captivated by the Californian landscape, fell in love with palm trees, making them central subjects in much of his production. In turn, he drew inspiration from the saturated atmospheres and iconic swimming pools of David Hockney, building a bridge between Western Pop Art and Asian visual aesthetics. Today, White Sky pays homage to this iconic connection by reinterpreting it through his own sensibility, transforming influence into dialogue and continuity.
