Dariush T. Mohajer

Dariush T. Mohajer is an internationally renowned artist who combines his Persian roots with European experiences, creating works that reflect a world rich in tradition and innovation, appreciated both in Italy and abroad.

Born in Tehran in 1944, he showed a great passion for art from a young age, starting to paint at 15. He graduated in decorative arts and interior design in Tehran and participated in the Biennale of contemporary painters in his hometown. In 1972, he decided to leave Persia and moved to Italy, settling in Florence, where he earned a degree in architecture in 1978. He lives between the province of Lucca in Italy and Brittany, France.

Dariush is a versatile artist: painter, engraver, and illustrator. He loves to depict the human figure, couples, cats, and other animals, with a style reminiscent of Persian miniatures, characterized by a “falsely naive” flair and references to Persian artistic traditions. His art stands out for its ability to blend traditional elements with modern techniques, creating works that express a world full of symbolism and poetry.

He has participated in numerous exhibitions: FIAC in Paris, Galleria Matastasio in Prato, Art Jonction International in Nice, Galerie Ferrero in Nice, International Art Fair in Rome, Galleria Poggiali & Forconi in Florence, Konstmassan Stockholm Art Fair in Stockholm, Expo Arte in Bari, and Forum Art Gallery in Monaco.

Since 2024, he has been collaborating with Calandra Art Gallery in Manarola.
