Massimo Faraci
Massimo Faraci (Catania, 1973) is an Italian artist who primarily works in Abstract Painting and Structural/Geometric Painting, often utilizing mixed media. Trained at the State Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania, Faraci developed a pictorial language that combines strong abstract inclinations with a rigorous constructive rhythm. His canvases are often populated by "structures in construction," shapes that stand out with force, resembling post-modern totems or elements of a changing urban landscape (buildings, bridges, scaffolding), yet are rendered with a surprising lightness (a principle the artist ideally connects to Italo Calvino). The artist employs heterogeneous materials and a geometrically ordered composition to investigate the sense of time and a deep understanding of reality, transforming urban and industrial elements into a poetic of the present that seeks a continuous refoundation of the visual language.
