Luigi Marcon

Luigi Marcon was born in Tarzo in 1938. He learned the art of engraving in Venice, first at the Art Institute with Dalla Zorza and Dinon, and later at the International Graphics Center with Licata and Simon. He studied painting and ceramics with Cillo. Since 1960, he has participated in many national and international graphics exhibitions, earning various awards; he has set up numerous solo shows in Italy and abroad. For many years, he also dedicated himself to teaching intaglio (calcography). He is also the author of the "800 Jahre Landshut" stamp issued in Germany in 2004. He works and exhibits permanently in Vittorio Veneto, at the Saletta della Grafica e laboratorio di incisione (Graphics Room and Engraving Workshop) on Via Manin, 39, in Vittorio Veneto (TV). In his principal activity, besides being a painter, he has created over 4,500 matrices using intaglio (calcography) techniques. He personally prints them using a star wheel press.
